About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team in Cape Town City Centre. As a self-starter, you will be responsible for assisting our medium-sized company with full bookkeeping functions and reporting directly to the Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Full bookkeeping experience of taking books to Trial Balance
- Maintain good working relationships with mainly non-financial colleagues
- Preparation of Monthly management accounts (Trial balance, Income statements)
- Meeting monthly deadlines
- Analyse variances report
- Budgeting and cash flow forecasting
- Process Sales invoicing on a daily basis
- Follow up on outstanding debtors
- Processing of all suppliers invoicing daily & reconciliations monthly
- REconcile Bank & petty cash accounts monthly
- Check commission input sheet and month end payrolls /- 50 employees
- Prepare TAX ( VAT, PAYE) for payment and complete tax return – monthly
- Managing and liaising with company auditors
- Working knowledge of Microsoft products – Excel, Word, Outlook etc.
- Experience with a Pastel Partner accounting and payroll system
- Compiling accounts for year-end audit
- Provide financial ad hoc support to an independent department
- General bookkeeping assistance
Requirements
- Matric with Bookkeeping/Accounts qualification
- Ability to work in the city centre of Cape Town, Monday to Friday
- Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience within a senior bookkeeping/accounts role
- Pastel Partner accounting & payroll system experience
