About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Auxiliary Worker to join our frontline team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our child protection non-profit, you will play a vital role in delivering trauma-informed care, supporting family reunification, and promoting resilience in high-risk communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of child protection interventions under the Children’s Act
- Conduct home visits, risk assessments, and family support sessions
- Support statutory social workers with court preparation, case documentation, and referral coordination
- Facilitate trauma debriefing, safety planning, and community-based support groups
- Maintain POPIA-compliant case records and contribute to audit-ready reporting
- Maintain high levels of confidentiality
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including educators, health professionals, and law enforcement
- Uphold safeguarding protocols and mandatory reporting obligations
Requirements
- Registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP)
- Completed Social Auxiliary Work Certificate (NQF Level 4/5)
- Valid driver’s licence
- Own transport (advantageous)
