About the Role

A leading residential Property Developer is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a driven and commercially minded QS to become part of a dynamic development environment working on large-scale residential projects from inception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full quantity surveying functions on residential developments
  • Cost planning, estimating, and budget control
  • Tender adjudication and subcontractor management
  • Preparation and management of payment certificates and valuations
  • Monitoring project profitability and financial reporting
  • Site measurements and progress evaluations
  • Liaising with contractors, consultants, and project teams
  • Ensuring projects remain within budget and programme targets

Requirements

Minimum 10 years experience within the construction or property development sector

Strong residential building project experience essential

Proven experience managing project costs, budgets, procurement, and subcontractor accounts

Ability to work independently across both office and site environments

Strong contractual and financial management skills

Excellent communication and reporting abilities

Proficient in CCS Candy and Microsoft Office advantageous

Qualifications

Degree / Diploma in Quantity Surveying

About the Role

We are seeking a senior-level Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Cape Town City Centre, responsible for managing project finances from inception through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered within budget while maintaining strong commercial controls and financial oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets.
  • Maintain full cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project variations, value engineering initiatives, and budget reconciliations.
  • Monitor project expenditure and identify potential financial risks.
  • Ensure projects remain aligned with approved budgets and scope.
  • Manage procurement processes for contractors, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Review quotations and ensure alignment with approved budgets.
  • Oversee purchase orders and procurement documentation.
  • Track and manage all project variations and extras.
  • Coordinate approvals with relevant stakeholders.
  • Review and process contractor payment claims.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying (NQF Level 7).

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong background in budgeting, cost control, procurement, and project financial management.
