Job Description

About the Role

The Kethelo Group is seeking a highly skilled Fire Fighter to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining operational readiness of resources and ensuring compliance with Airport category standards.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain operational readiness of resources including vehicle, equipment and infrastructure to comply with Airport category.
Operate Fire Fighting and Rescue Equipment and Tools.
Ensure understanding of vehicle and/or equipment and limitations to ensure utilisation within design parameters.
Conduct routine inspections, maintenance and reporting of defects when required and follow up.
Adhere to relevant statutory/legislative regulations, SOP’s, operational standards, ACSA policies and procedures, employee manual and Service Level Agreements/MOU to ensure business continuity.
Activate and respond to all relevant incidents and accidents within area of jurisdiction, scope of training and expertise.
Conduct emergency standbys to prevent incidents and accidents as requested.
Analyse, Monitor, identify, mitigate and report areas of non-compliance (HIRA).

Requirements

Skills in firefighting techniques, equipment operation, and vehicle maintenance are essential. A valid Fire Fighter’s Certificate is required.

Qualifications

Formal education in a relevant field or completion of a recognized Fire Fighting training program is an advantage.
