About the Role
We are seeking a talented and innovative Head Pastry Chef to lead the pastry kitchen at a prestigious 150room hotel in Mouille Point, Cape Town. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the dessert and pastry offering across the property, ensuring worldclass standards of creativity, consistency, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the pastry kitchen, overseeing production for hotel outlets and banqueting
- Develop innovative dessert menus aligned with the hotels culinary identity
- Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction across all pastry offerings
- Manage costing, procurement, and supplier relationships with a focus on premium sourcing
- Uphold hygiene, safety, and operational standards in line with hotel policies
- Mentor and train pastry staff, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence

Experience & Qualifications:
Diploma in Patisserie or equivalent professional certification
5-7+ years pastry experience in luxury hotels or fine dining restaurants
Proven track record in menu development, seasonal innovation, and high-volume production
2-3+ years in a leadership role, managing pastry teams and training junior staff
Qualifications
Diploma in Patisserie or equivalent professional certification (if applicable)
Salary & Benefits
R18;000 – R22,000 CTC
