About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Chef de Partie to take ownership of a kitchen section within a busy, high-volume hotel environment. This role is ideal for a chef who is confident in their abilities, thrives under pressure, and is ready to step into a leadership role while maintaining exceptional culinary standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for a designated kitchen section
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to established standards
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and timely delivery during service
  • Guide and support Commis and Demi Chefs within the section
  • Assist with training and development of junior team members
  • Maintain strong communication with senior chefs and other sections
  • Ensure cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene standards are upheld
  • Assist with stock control, stock rotation, and minimising wastage
  • Monitor portion control and contribute to cost management

Requirements

  • Matric
  • Recognised Culinary Qualification
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in a professional kitchen
  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Demi Chef ready to step up
  • Experience within a hotel or high-volume kitchen environment essential
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation
  • Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
