Job Description

  • We are seeking an experienced SAP Business Partner to manage and optimise the SAP solution ecosystem within a complex industrial/manufacturing environment. The role focuses primarily on the Plan and Build phases within the IT application lifecycle, ensuring strong alignment between business needs and SAP capability, with a strong emphasis on standardisation, governance, and S/4HANA best practice.
  • This is an office-based role located in Somerset West.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Business Engagement & Relationship Management
  • Act as the primary SAP interface between IT and business stakeholders
  • Engage regularly with business leaders to understand requirements, challenges, and priorities
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, communications, and escalation pathways
  • Ensure alignment between IT delivery and business objectives
  • Establish governance frameworks for businessIT interaction and service handover
  • Drive stakeholder satisfaction and effective communication of SAP service delivery
  • Business Requirements & Change Management
  • Gather, structure, and prioritise business demand for SAP solutions
  • Translate business needs into SAP functional requirements aligned with architecture principles
  • Conduct impact assessments and develop business cases for proposed changes
  • Collaborate with key users and process owners to identify automation and optimisation opportunities
  • Track and report on value realisation and benefits post-implementation
  • Lead project implementation reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
  • SAP Portfolio & Demand Management
  • Support SAP roadmap planning and long-term solution alignment
  • Contribute to SAP S/4HANA roadmap development and future architecture design
  • Promote standard SAP functionality over custom development
  • Support prioritisation decisions with business leadership
  • Monitor service provider performance and business satisfaction metrics
  • Analyse incident trends and drive root-cause elimination initiatives
  • Solution Delivery Lifecycle
  • Support scope definition, requirements gathering, and process mapping
  • Maintain SAP enhancement and project pipeline governance
  • Ensure compliance with IT change control, audit, and governance frameworks
  • Oversee testing cycles including UAT coordination
  • Support go-live readiness, deployment, and post-go-live stabilisation
  • Facilitate user adoption, training, and change management activities
  • Manage stakeholder engagement throughout delivery lifecycle
  • Minimum Requirements
  • NQF Level 6 in Information Systems or related field (required)
  • NQF Level 7 Degree advantageous
  • Minimum 5+ years SAP ecosystem experience
  • Proven experience in SAP S/4HANA implementations and enhancements
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Strong understanding of SAP change control, governance, and audit requirements
  • Experience working across multiple SAP modules (e.g. FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, PM, HCM, WM)
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end business processes in ERP environments
  • Ability to translate business requirements into SAP functional specifications
  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships at business and technical levels
