Job Summary

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Instructor

Duties:

Design and deliver comprehensive training modules on UAV mechanical systems, including propulsion, airframes, avionics, and payloads. Conduct hands-on training sessions to teach personnel UAV assembly, disassembly, troubleshooting, and repair techniques. Create and develop training materials, manuals, and presentations to support effective learning and skill acquisition. Technician

Duties:

Execute diagnostics, maintenance, and repair tasks on UAV mechanical components and systems. Perform inspections and assessments to ensure UAVs meet operational standards and comply with regulatory requirements. Collaborate with engineering teams to provide insights on UAV performance and reliability, contributing to ongoing improvements. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain precise records of training activities, participant progress, and certification outcomes. Prepare detailed technical reports on UAV maintenance, repairs, and operational issues for review and analysis. Safety and Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines during both training sessions and maintenance tasks. Stay informed about industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance in UAV mechanical operations. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree or equivalent in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 5-10 years working with UAVs or similar aerospace systems. Strong understanding of UAV mechanical systems, including propulsion, airframes, and avionics. Prior experience in technical training roles preferred. Certification in UAV operations and maintenance is highly advantageous; Certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS, CILT) preferred. Excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to travel occasionally, flexibility to adapt to evolving technology, understanding of South African aviation regulations and compliance standards. Own transport required. Experience with ERP systems and logistics software; knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, CAA Part 145). Sound knowledge of UAV systems, components, and logistics challenges specific to the industry.
