About the Role
Our client, a leading provider of innovative baking, food service and packaging solutions across Africa and key international markets, is seeking an experienced Marsden Machine Setter with expertise in Eccentric machines to join their Blackheath (Cape Town) facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up machines for production according to work instructions
- Monitor tooling and report to Toolroom on a regular basis
- Examine for defects, measuring for conformance to specs (using measuring tape and vernier)
- Adhere to standard times
- Maintenance of measuring equipment including regular calibration
- General house-keeping
- Wear PPE
- Able to work over-time and night shift
Requirements
- Grade 12 with maths and physical science OR N3 / N4 Mechanical Engineering
- Red Seal trade test certificate in Toolmaking, Fitting & Turning or Machining
- Hands-on experience with Eccentric machines and tooling
- Good understanding of production processes in Marsden
- Able to read, interpret and work from technical drawings
- Good fault finding and problem-solving skills
- Able to work with a tape measure and vernier
- High level of attention and accuracy
- Able to work under pressure
- OSH awareness
