About the Role
A leading retail company in Cape Town is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Menswear Buyer to join their team of professionals. With a minimum of 5 years relevant experience as a Buyer within a retail or fashion environment, you will play a crucial role in driving sales performance and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market research and trend analysis
- Maintain professional relationships with the Brand Principal, manufacturers and suppliers
- Develop category pricing and merchandise strategies, to increase market share and profitability
- Ensure that ranges and product strategies support all sales channels wholesale, ecommerce and retail strategies. Provide input/support/feedback to all channels
- Collaborate with Planning, Marketing, Operations, Sales and Production regarding the execution of the seasonal Product/Sales plan and achieve agreed set revenue & profit targets
- Drive sales performance by contributing to promotional activities on products and price to meet the set department sales and margin targets
- Negotiate Supplier trade terms, costs and deliveries, while sourcing product from international and local manufacturing opportunities
- Actively cultivate and develop vendor partnerships to ensure optimize performance and on-time-in-full, seasonal product launches
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience as a Buyer within a retail or fashion environment
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Fashion Design or Product Development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Fashion Design or related field (if not specified)
