Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong Accountant to join a dynamic and growing premium property rental company in Cape Town. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial records while contributing to effective reporting and operational decision making.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily accounting functions including processing, maintaining, and reconciling financial records
Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy across all financial transactions
Process creditor payments, perform bank reconciliations, and manage debtor and creditor accounts
Assist with monthly management reporting and annual audit preparation processes
Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure accurate tracking of company assets
Prepare and submit statutory returns including VAT and payroll related submissions
Administer monthly payroll processes ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations
Monitor financial performance against budgets and support management with financial insights
Maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies
Work closely with management to support accurate reporting and facilitate financial processes across departments

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Accounting or a related field, with a BCom Accounting
Minimum of 3 years relevant accounting experience within a structured hospitality finance environment
Strong working knowledge of VAT, payroll processes, tax compliance, and e Filing
Proven experience with accounting systems such as Xero
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Analytical mindset with the ability to identify discrepancies and implement effective solutions
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with internal stakeholders
High level of integrity with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly
