About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Groups & Events Manager to lead a high-performing team and oversee the seamless coordination of group bookings, conferences and events in our dynamic hospitality environment. As a proactive leader with strong operational, organisational and relationship-building skills, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences while driving revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day functioning of the Groups & Events department and ensure the efficient running of the office.
- Lead and motivate the Groups & Events team to achieve departmental objectives, hotel goals and revenue targets.
- Maximise selling opportunities through close liaison with Sales and Groups & Events Coordinators, while actively monitoring the diary and incoming functions.
- Participate in long-range planning meetings for upcoming events and provide strategic direction for event activities.
- Ensure all Groups & Events Coordinators and Administrators are fully knowledgeable on: Hotel room configurations, Banqueting operations and available services, Menu and beverage offerings, Wine lists, Function room layouts, and Hotel room layouts and capacities.
- Ensure all initial enquiries are handled efficiently, professionally and within required turnaround times.
- Monitor and maintain the quality of service delivered by the coordination team to ensure a consistently high standard of client service.
- Ensure all event and group details, including client files, contracts and confirmation letters, are accurate, updated and communicated effectively to all relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Groups & Events, Conference or Banqueting management role within hospitality.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Exceptional communication and client relationship management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
- Proficiency in hotel systems and Microsoft Office.
