About the Role
A well-established engineering consultancy is seeking a Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Bellville, specializing in electrical power systems. The successful candidate will be required to design and analyze overhead power lines using PLS-CADD.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analysis of overhead power lines using PLS-CADD
- Line profiling, tower spotting, and loading analysis
- Coordination with structural and geotechnical inputs for foundation design
- Preparation of design reports, drawings, and technical documentation
- Ensuring compliance with relevant Eskom/SANS/international standards
- Liaising with internal teams and clients on design deliverables
Requirements
- B. Sc/ B. Eng in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in overhead line design
- Proven working experience in PLS-CADD (non-negotiable)
- Experience with PLS-TOWER or related software advantageous
- Experience in renewable energy or large-scale transmission projects
- Exposure to transmission/distribution line design standards and practices
