Job Description

A prestigious luxury hotel in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Guest Relations Manager to lead the guest experience function within a fast-paced, high-volume hotel environment. This is a highly visible, operational role requiring strong leadership presence on the floor, hands-on guest engagement, and regular Duty Manager shifts . This position is suited to a hospitality professional with proven experience in 4- or 5-star hotels , strong systems knowledge, and the ability to manage guest expectations at the highest level. Minimum Requirements (Essential) Applicants must meet all of the following requirements to be considered: Proven hotel experience in a 4- or 5-star luxury hotel Experience in hotels with 200 rooms or more Previous experience in Guest Relations, Front Office Management, or Duty Management Opera PMS experience is essential Willing and able to work shifts , including weekends, evenings, and public holidays South African ID (non-negotiable) Matric (Grade 12) Relevant Hotel Management / Hospitality qualification Strong understanding of luxury service standards and guest recovery processes Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Professional presentation and strong guest-centric approach Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee the Guest Relations function to ensure exceptional guest experiences Actively engage with guests throughout their stay, including VIPs and repeat guests Proactively handle guest feedback, complaints, and service recovery Perform regular Duty Manager shifts , overseeing hotel operations when on duty Liaise with Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and operational teams Ensure service delivery aligns with the hotel’s luxury positioning Maintain accurate guest profiles and reporting on Opera Train, coach, and support Guest Relations and Front Office team members Support arrivals, departures, and operational flow during peak periods Only candidates meeting the minimum requirements will be considered.
