About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our business development department, you will be responsible for leading and managing our internal sales team to achieve exceptional customer retention rates and drive revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to the Head of Business Development
  • Oversee and manage an Internal Sales team
  • Attain budget with a minimum of 100% customer retention
  • Conduct need & cost-benefit analysis to meet customer needs
  • Identify, create, and assess opportunities for upselling
  • Conduct pipeline review and monitor outstanding Purchase Orders
  • Conduct loss analysis
  • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments
  • Attend sales meetings as required
  • Generate new business through cold calling
  • Identify new sales leads through networking and prospecting
  • Attend industry events in order to identify potential new business opportunities
  • Maintain high level industry knowledge
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • Present, promote and sell to existing and prospective customers using solid commercial arguments
  • Field customer complaints and / disputes to maximise customer satisfaction
  • Attend operations meetings to report on customer issues
  • Provide feedback or updates to customer
  • CRM data is updated and maintained with all sales activities
  • Takes notes during all customer meetings
  • Complete sales reports and analytics as directed
  • Assist with tender submissions, pricing comparisons & market analyses

Requirements

  • Grade 12 supported by a relevant tertiary/supplementary commercial qualification
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role in B2B technical sales
  • Previous experience in the electronic manufacturing industry would be a distinct advantage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated influencing and negotiation skills
  • Proven customer relationship management skills
  • Track record of success in B2B sales and revenue achievement
  • Good prioritising, time management and organisational skills
  • Strong leadership ability and willing to assist knowledge and skill development of colleagues
  • Fluency (written and spoken) in English and Afrikaans
  • Good understanding of CRM and ERP systems
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft 356
