Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site inspections, surveys, and fire risk assessments across commercial, retail, and industrial properties
- Design and develop fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, and suppression systems
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
- Ensure compliance with SANS regulations, building codes, and fire safety legislation
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Perform system inspections, testing, servicing, and maintenance
- Provide recommendations for fire safety improvements and risk mitigation
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
- Provide technical support to clients and internal teams
- Stay up to date with fire engineering standards and new technologies
Minimum Requirements
- SAQCC certification (Handheld and Detection – essential)
- Valid driver’s licence
- 3–5 years’ experience as a Fire Technician / Fire Supervisor / Fire Systems Technician
- Strong technical knowledge of fire detection, suppression, and alarm systems
- Experience working with various fire protection systems and products
- Solid understanding of fire safety compliance, SANS standards, and relevant legislation
