Centurion: Cloud Platform Product Owner (AWS / Azure)

About the Role

The client is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Platform Product Owner for a high-impact 12-month contract in Centurion, South Africa. This role requires exceptional Product Ownership maturity combined with a deep understanding of cloud platform operations and platform-as-a-product thinking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and prioritise cloud platform and service backlogs across AWS and Azure environments.
  • Support cloud service roadmap planning aligned to enterprise cloud strategy and governance standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Cloud Engineering, Architecture, Security, Risk, FinOps, SRE, and Operations teams.
  • Translate business and operational demand into clear, prioritised backlog outcomes.
  • Support the delivery of scalable, secure, reliable, and governed cloud platform capabilities.
  • Drive backlog refinement, sprint planning participation, and operational readiness alignment.
  • Support cloud service catalogue optimisation and platform enablement initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess operational value, service performance, adoption, and platform maturity.
  • Contribute actively to cloud governance, operational resilience, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Product Ownership or Platform Product Management within a complex enterprise or regulated environment.
  • Direct experience operating within cloud platform, cloud operations, cloud enablement, or platform engineering environments (rather than purely project coordination or business analysis functions).
  • Enterprise cloud platform delivery experience across AWS and/or Azure ecosystems.
  • Strong backlog ownership and prioritisation capability alongside engineering-led delivery teams.
  • Solid understanding of Agile delivery, DevOps practices, and platform operations.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication capability with true lifecycle accountability.
  • Ability to balance business value and operational stability with security and scalability.

Qualifications

Relevant AWS or Azure cloud platform certifications are highly preferred. A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is advantageous.
