About the Role
A well-known food manufacturing company based in Durban is seeking a dynamic Millwright Technician to join their team. As a key member of the facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of utilities across all plants.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and implement planned and unplanned maintenance relating to utilities
- Water, air, and electricity
- Collection and analysis of utilities data to drive improvements and cost reduction
- Ensure service level agreements are maintained at the required standards
- Contractors brought to site comply with relevant SHE requirements
- Carry out preventative and planned maintenance effectively
- Carry out projects to completion and hand over
- Participate in the asset care strategy
- Ensure engineering standards are correctly applied, as per regulations
- Assist plants with problem solving of engineering/operational problems relating to utilities
- Analyze breakdowns relating to utilities and implement continuous improvement
- Assist services teams with startup and shutdown of equipment
- Share standby and callout roster
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety procedures
- Report all unsafe conditions to Safety rep or supervisor immediately
- Maintain proper housekeeping in their areas of work and responsibility
Requirements
- Qualified (Trade Tested) Artisan: Electrician or Millwright (Wiremans License advantageous)
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a building services environment
- Mechanical aptitude and strong understanding of services equipment
- Transformers, Switchgear, Compressors, Chillers, Pumps, and Solar
