About the Role
iStaff (Pty) Ltd is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join their team in Somerset West. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engines and mechanical systems, with experience in routine servicing and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with routine servicing and maintenance of diesel engines, tractors, and farm equipment
- Support diagnostics and basic fault-finding on mechanical and electrical systems
- Carry out basic repairs under supervision
- Conduct inspections and report defects or potential issues
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean working environment
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards
- Assist with breakdowns and emergency repairs when required
- Accurately complete job cards and maintenance records
Requirements
- Grade 12 (or equivalent)
- Basic mechanical/diesel training or certification
- 1–3 years’ relevant experience
- Basic understanding of diesel engines and mechanical systems
- Valid driver’s license

Working Conditions
