About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Patternmaker to join our team in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality patterns for a variety of size ranges and design silhouettes, utilizing their technical skills and experience to ensure optimal fit and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete master production patterns for a variety of size ranges and design silhouettes
- Create basic blocks for all fabric types in various silhouettes
- Develop accurate patterns from design sketches using computer software (via manipulation of blocks or adjustment of existing patterns)
- Ensure all patterns adhere to size, construction, and quality standards
- Check pattern accuracy and quality throughout the process
- Assess garment quality and fit once produced
- Advise on alternative construction methods or pattern engineering to achieve optimal fit
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop or share block patterns with suppliers
Requirements
- Strong technical skills with the ability to manage the Patternmaking department
- Minimum 35 years of experience in patternmaking
- Proficiency in Lectra Modaris and 3D Pattern Making will be a significant advantage
