About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Manager to support and strengthen the finance function within a fast-paced transport environment. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role is suited to a qualified professional with 2–3 years’ post-article experience in a commercial / non-audit environment , who has practical exposure to managing people, improving processes, and supporting operational finance functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Finance in managing the day-to-day finance function
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
- Ensure accurate processing, review, and reconciliation of general ledger entries
- Manage cash flow planning and oversee banking processes
- Oversee debtors, creditors, and revenue reconciliation processes
- Ensure SARS compliance and statutory submissions
- Participate in and manage year-end audit processes
- Implement, improve, and maintain financial controls, policies, and procedures
- Identify and drive process improvements within the finance department
- Monitor operational costs and cost allocations to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Lead, supervise, and develop junior finance staff
- Foster a high-performance, accountable team culture
- Engage effectively with operational teams to support business objectives
Requirements
- BCom Degree or equivalent in Accounting / Finance
- SAICA AGA, SAIPA, or CIMA designation (essential)
- Minimum of 2–3 years post-article experience in a non-audit / commercial environment
- Proven experience in managing people and finance processes
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and develop staff
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications: BCom Degree or equivalent in Accounting / Finance, SAICA AGA, SAIPA, or CIMA designation.
