About the Role

As an HSE Intern (Automotive) at Abantu Staffing Solutions, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the implementation of safety procedures and standards within our clients’ manufacturing environments. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates seeking hands-on experience in Occupational Health & Safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in ensuring compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) legislation and company policies
  • Support implementation of safety procedures, standards, and risk controls
  • Participate in conducting and reviewing risk assessments (HIRA Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment)
  • Assist with Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Safe Work Procedures development
  • Assist in organizing and delivering safety training sessions and toolbox talks
  • Support induction programs for new employees

Requirements

  • A National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
  • Knowledge of ISO standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001) is an advantage
  • No prior work experience required (intern-level), but exposure to manufacturing environments is beneficial
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
