About the Role
A reputable manufacturing business is seeking to appoint an experienced Quality Controller to support their quality assurance function. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production documentation, overseeing gauge control, and ensuring compliance with internal quality systems in line with ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and control all production related documentation:
- Issue and maintain all tooling drawings within the company.
- Issue and authorise component drawings for the manufacturing of components as per supplied customer drawings.
- Maintain a customer drawing register for all customers.
- Participate in reviewing feasibility study documents.
- Issue of Job set up verification and inspection sheets to production ensuring these are correct and updated when necessary.
- Responsible for doing and signing off verification after every set up (Change Over) and verification.
- Responsible for performing daily checks/verifications on all parts being produced.
- Ensure quality systems are being maintained on Shop Floors.
- Gauge control:
- Issue, maintain and control all gauges i.e verification and calibration intervals using Gage Pack.
- Design gauges for production ensuring best gauge for application.
- Responsible for obtaining quotes from supplier for all tooling & gauges.
- Audits:
- Support audits of all manufacturing processes including the supporting processes according to the audit schedules, within the plant as per the ISO and IATF requirements.
- Ensure that all audit findings, including the root causes and ICA / permanent actions implemented are distributed to the relevant Managers and or Supervisors.
- Create and monitor action plans to ensure all ICA / permanent corrective actions from audit findings are closed off.
- Assist Quality Team with PPAP, FMEA, APQP, MSA, SPC, CSR, Control Plan
Requirements
- Diploma in Quality Management or equivalent will be an advantage.
- At least 3 years experience in a production or quality environment.
- At least 4 years experience in Quality Assurance.
- Experience in conducting internal audits (system, process and product).
- Sound knowledge of the IATF Quality System.
- Problem Solving Techniques.
- Customer Specification Requirements.
- Experience in MSA, FMEA and Control Plans, PPAP, Capability Studies, APQP, SPC.
