About the Role

Our client, a trusted name in the short-term insurance industry, is seeking a Claims Manager to oversee the full claims lifecycle and ensure fair and timely resolution of both personal and commercial claims. The successful candidate will lead a team, manage complex cases, and maintain audit and regulatory readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end claims process for personal and commercial lines
• Assess, approve, and oversee complex, high-value, and escalated claims
• Lead and support the claims team to meet service and compliance standards
• Plan operational capacity and manage workloads across the department
• Ensure strict compliance with regulatory and governance requirements
• Maintain accurate claims records and ensure audit readiness
• Develop and implement claims policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Oversee complaints, disputes, and escalations, including Ombud referrals (OSTI)
• Monitor claims turnaround times and service level agreements
• Collaborate with underwriting and finance teams to ensure cohesive operations
• Generate reports on claims activity, trends, and performance metrics
• Ensure a client-centric approach throughout the claims process

Requirements – Non Negotiable

• Matric qualification
• NQF Level 4 Short Term Insurance
• RE5 certification
• FAIS compliant
• Minimum 5 years proven experience in short-term insurance claims and management
• Valid driver’s license and own transport
