About the Role
Eden is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Knysna. As a key member of our construction department, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate valuations and measurements on various projects, as well as managing sub-contractor relationships and preparing contracts. Key Responsibilities
- Accurate, well-annotated valuation and re-measurement of the complete main contractors scope of work on various projects
- Measurement of all labour-only sub-contractors work fortnightly and calculation of the sub-contractors Payment Due Adjudicate and prepare contracts with sub-contractors (Nominated/Selected/Domestic & Labour-Only)
- Prepare Joint Building Contracts Committee contracts for new projects and submit them to the Financial Manager / Commercial Manager for signing with client
- Maintain accurate As Built records of all main contractors scope of work, ensuring records are well-annotated and use marked-up drawings
- Take progress photographs on a Fortnightly basis and maintain printed photo files
- Responsible for purchasing and ordering of high value and Long Lead items Refer to the allowable in the Project BOQ and follow good purchasing practice
- Compile Tender Packs for Selected/Nominated/Domestic Sub-contracted works, adjudicate returned tenders and place orders for the Sub-contract Package
- Preparation and submission of Monthly Valuations (Progress Claims) for the Main Contractors work on contractual due dates
- Evaluation of nominated and domestic Sub-contractors progress claims prior to submission to the PQS
- Prepare and present monthly Cost Reports to Management
- Prepare the Final Account in liaison with the Contracts Manager and agree on Final Account with Client
- Liaise with and assisting CIC Buyer
- Measure, prepare, resource and submit (Tenders) Bills of Quantity in CANDY QTO
- Assist Commercial Manager with re-measuring projects under their control
- Load projects from CANDY and export resources to Build Smart Integration
- Update CCS Resource Lists on a regular basis
Requirements
- Higher Diploma / National Diploma / Degree in Quantity Surveying
- Proficient in CANDY CCS (Construction Computer Software)
- Extensive experience in up-market residential construction
- Extensive knowledge of the Construction process, and related fields
- Knowledge of JBCC Building Contract Agreement and general contract terms and conditions
- Excellent communicate skills
