Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head Guide to join our intimate 5* Safari Lodge in Sabi Sands. As a senior member of staff, you will be responsible for leading our team of rangers and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. With a strong focus on safety, training, and operational efficiency, we are looking for someone who can provide expert guidance and support to our guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities

Guiding guests
Communicating with the General Manager regarding all camp guest and staff matters, daily operations, staff issues, vehicle issues, and shared staff service requirements
Fostering a warm, welcoming, and relaxing atmosphere for all guests to maximise guest enjoyment
Coordinating on-going training and unit standard maintenance of all rangers’ qualifications and certifications in conjunction with the Human Resources Manager and General Manager
Assisting in any emergency in the field or at any of the camps
Working with the Operations Manager on ranger performance matters, safari policy implementation, and standard operating procedures

Requirements

Matric
FGASA level 2 or higher
First Aid level 2 (Minimum)
Handle and use of a Manually Operated Rifle, shotgun, and Carbine for Business Purposes – SAQA ID 123519
NDT registered
Lead trails qualification
Valid Advanced Rifle Handling qualification is essential
