About the Role

The Portfolio Manager – Insurance role is a critical position within our commercial insurance team, requiring an experienced professional with strong knowledge of policy administration, renewals, and endorsements to manage and maintain commercial insurance portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain commercial insurance portfolios
  • Assist with underwriting functions and policy administration
  • Prepare and process quotations, renewals, endorsements, and new business
  • Liaise with clients, brokers, and insurers regarding policies and queries
  • Ensure accurate and timeous processing of insurance documentation
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and insurers
  • Assist senior underwriters with day-to-day portfolio management
  • Review policy schedules and ensure underwriting compliance
  • Follow up on outstanding requirements and insurer feedback
  • Provide professional client service and support
  • Handle general underwriting and administrative duties

Requirements

  • Minimum 25 years experience within the commercial insurance industry
  • Experience in commercial underwriting and portfolio management
  • Strong knowledge of policy administration, renewals, and endorsements
  • FAIS compliant where applicable
  • RE5 qualification advantageous
  • Relevant insurance qualification preferred
  • Strong administrative and communication skills
  • Computer literate on insurance systems and Microsoft Office
