The successful individual will not only manage reporting and compliance but will actively partner with the business, strengthen internal controls, and help mitigate risk across distribution channels. Duties:
- Preparation of monthly management reports and detailed variance analysis
- Presentation of financial reports to executive members
- Full Group reporting responsibilities
- Regulatory reporting for the Group
- Submission of income tax and VAT returns
- Management and oversight of internal controls
- Identification and mitigation of risks affecting distribution channels
- Preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Monthly processing and review of trial balances
- Review and preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Review of daily payments and detailed analysis of supporting schedules
- Preparation of ad hoc financial reports (including involvement in IFRS 17 implementation)
- Preparation of annual financial statements, including accounting policies and detailed notes
- Liaison with internal and external auditors
- Acting as a finance business partner to distribution channels
- Internal and external stakeholder management
- Team leadership and management
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Qualified CA(SA) or CTA with completed articles
- Strong IFRS technical knowledge
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Pastel experience advantageous
- Knowledge of the insurance industry advantageous
Experience:
- Minimum 7 years’ post-articles experience
- Post-audit experience required
- Proven experience in Group reporting and regulatory reporting
- Exposure to IFRS implementation projects (IFRS 17 advantageous)
- Experience managing internal controls and working with auditors
- Demonstrated team management experience
