About the Role
The Workshop Foreman is a critical role that requires strong leadership and technical skills to manage a workshop team and ensure efficient production. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Report to Workshop Manager and MD.
- Closing and opening of workshop.
- Manage staff attendance and timekeeping.
- Investigate non-conformances.
- Meet monthly revenue and GP targets.
- Overtime planning.
- Ensuring adherence to job cards.
- Adhere to strict deadlines by allocating staff resources efficiently.
- Identify possible delays and report to management.
- Safekeeping of new and replacement parts.
- Clear communication with buyers and estimators and the Workshop Manager.
- Manage repair process and timeframes on multiple jobs simultaneously.
- Ensure good housekeeping practices of the workshop.
- Promote a safe and health work environment for all staff.
- Overtime required occasionally.
- Ad-hoc / general duties in the workshop.
Requirements
- Diesel mechanic or similar trade qualification.
- Hardworking and professional.
- Ability to work without supervision.
- Communicate well on all levels.
- Attention to detail.
- Must have previous experience in similar role.
- Sober habits.
- Presentable.
- Interact with clients, OEMs and suppliers in a professional manner.
- Clear criminal record.
- Grade 12 or N3.
- Code 14 driver’s license.
- Valid PrDP license.
