Vacancy: Technical Drafter/Estimator

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes work orders, sketches, written and verbal instructions to determine job requirements.
  • Be able to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Generate quotes for customers.
  • Advise Customers of Suitable Materials for Projects and Request.
  • Understanding the process of sheet metal bending and advising the customer of modifications required to fall within our bending limits.
  • Understand and know how to use 2D CAD.
  • Liaising with customers to ensure drawings are correct and suitable for manufacturing.
  • Process customer drawing requirements as quickly and as accurately as possible.
  • Program and maintain current file revisions of all clients parts.
  • Consult with management and fellow employees to resolve manufacturing problems.
  • Handling of all paperwork. (Customer Drawings, Quotes, purchase orders, filling, etc)
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections to verify compliance with the specification.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed standardized work instructions.
  • Keep Track of customer Orders and payments.
  • Know and understand Office 365 Suite

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as a Draftsman.
  • Tertiary education
  • Must have working experience on Sigmanest, Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • National Senior Certificate.
  • Drivers licence.
  • Competent in Microsoft applications.
  • Hands-on experience with computer-aided design software.
  • Fully bilingual-English and Afrikaans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
