About the Role

We are seeking a skilled PLC / Automation Engineer to design, program, maintain, and optimise PLC-based control systems in a cement processing and mining operation. The role supports plant automation, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs (e.g. Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider)
  • Maintain and upgrade PLC, SCADA, and automation systems
  • Develop and test logic diagrams, HMI screens, and control strategies
  • Provide technical support during commissioning, shutdowns, and process changes
  • Troubleshoot control system failures and instrumentation issues
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and engineering standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Instrumentation / Control
  • Mechatronics (or similar)
  • 3–7 years’ experience in PLC programming & industrial automation
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • PLC / DCS / SCADA systems
  • Industrial communication networks
  • Experience with commissioning and troubleshooting large-scale systems
  • Cement or heavy industry experience is advantageous
