Germiston: Maintenance Supervisor / Handyman

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor/Handyman to join our team in Germiston, responsible for overseeing maintenance and repairs across residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will possess strong practical skills in plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs, with experience supervising or leading a small team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct general maintenance and repairs across residential and commercial properties
• Perform hands-on tasks including fixing cupboards, repairing taps, addressing leaks, and identifying water damage
• Inspect roofs and carry out minor roof-related maintenance (must be comfortable working at heights)
• Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day maintenance issues efficiently
• Supervise and manage two maintenance team members
• Coordinate and liaise with external contractors for specialized repairs or larger projects
• Ensure all maintenance work is completed timeously and to a high standard
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance records
• Conduct routine inspections to proactively identify potential issues

Requirements

• Matric
• Valid drivers license and own reliable transport (essential)
• Proven experience in general maintenance or handyman work
• Strong practical skills in plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs
• Experience supervising or leading a small team is advantageous
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently
• Trustworthy, reliable, and dedicated
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
