About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef De Partie to join our team at a 5-star luxury hotel in Hermanus. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for producing all desserts, artisan breads, and pastries, as well as overseeing the pastry section during service. You will also be required to assist with function prep and service from the same kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality desserts, artisan breads, and pastries for a la carte lunch and dinner services
- Oversee the pastry section during service, ensuring efficient and effective operation
- Assist with function prep and service from the same kitchen
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficiency and speed in the kitchen
Requirements
- Formal pastry cheffing qualification
- At least 3 years experience in a fast-paced fine dining/5-star hotel kitchen
- Strong knowledge and skill working with a wide range of desserts, artisan breads, confectioneries, and pastries
- Excellent plating skills and refined attention to detail
Qualifications
- Formal pastry cheffing qualification (e.g. N1 or N2 in Pastry)
