About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a luxury private game reserve in Hoedspruit for an experienced Executive Chef to lead the culinary operation and establish a brand-new kitchen to luxury standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and establish a brand-new kitchen, including layout, equipment, systems, and workflows
- Design and execute high-quality menus aligned with a luxury safari experience
- Oversee all food preparation, presentation, and service standards
- Manage kitchen staff, including recruitment, training, and performance management
- Control food costs, stock ordering, waste management, and budgeting
- Ensure strict compliance with hygiene, health, and safety standards
- Maintain consistency and excellence across all meals and dining experiences
- Work closely with lodge management to deliver exceptional guest satisfaction
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef within a luxury lodge, hotel, or high-end hospitality environment
- Demonstrated experience in setting up and launching a new kitchen operation
- Strong leadership, organisational, and mentoring skills
- Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management systems
- Ability to work in a remote or bush environment
- Passion for quality, creativity, and attention to detail
