About the Role
Datafin is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Associate to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for expanding our business into new markets through outreach to key decision-makers globally. You will conduct research, hunt for new business opportunities, and set up demo appointments using various sales avenues and techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn the products and functionality to the extent required to sell or market the product to potential clients.
- Establish a universe of potential clients and generate leads. This includes identifying and researching potential clients in the local and targeted international markets, prospecting for leads, and networking internally and externally.
- Create brand awareness through sharing relevant content on social media platforms and becoming an “ambassador” for the company brand.
- Approach approved companies through cold calling, emailing, and networking, as well as using any warm leads and other viable and approved sales strategies.
- Set up sales meetings with the appropriate people in the target company and assist in preparing for meetings and demos.
- Continual follow-ups and deal closing if required.
- Work with the other team members and managers to grow the business’s sales.
- Establish and coordinate regular points of contact with various stakeholders for sales engagements.
- Build relationships with prospective clients.
- Assist BD Managers and dealmakers in reaching their target.
Requirements
- University tertiary qualification.
- 0 – 2 Years work experience.
- Strong customer-centric personality.
- Sales-orientated.
- People’s person with exceptional interpersonal, communication and research skills.
- Excellent lead researcher.
- A fast learner who can pick up financial concepts easily.
- An outgoing personality who can converse with decision-makers at top levels.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Determination to reach targets.
- Organisational and reporting skills.
