Job Description

The Business Development Consultant will support business growth by generating new leads, booking meetings, and assisting senior consultants with client acquisition. This role is ideal for someone eager to build a career in sales and business development, with clear exposure to the recruitment industry. Responsibilities Sales & Lead Generation Identify and qualify new business opportunities through cold calling, emails, LinkedIn, and referrals. Book meetings and introductory calls for senior consultants or sales managers. Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients. Client Support Assist in preparing proposals, quotes, and client presentations. Maintain accurate client and sales activity records on the CRM system. Support follow ups with prospective and existing clients. Market & Industry Awareness Research target companies, industries, and decision makers. Stay informed on recruitment trends and client hiring needs. Provide basic market feedback to senior team members. Performance & Reporting Work towards daily, weekly, and monthly activity targets. Track calls, emails, meetings, and outcomes accurately. Participate in sales reviews, coaching, and training sessions. Qualifications & Experience Matric / Grade 12 (required). Tertiary qualification in Sales, Business, Marketing, or related field 2 3 years sales experience. Exposure to B2B sales or recruitment is an advantage Key Skills & Competencies Confident communicator with strong verbal and written skills. Resilient, driven, and comfortable with rejection. Target driven with a strong work ethic. Organized, disciplined, and eager to learn. Professional telephone manner and client facing attitude. Develop and implement strategic plans to target and engage prospective clients through cold calling, networking, and other lead generation activities. Implement strategies for lead generation and engagement. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms of agreements with prospective clients, ensuring win-win outcomes for both parties. Sell our end-to-end solution and the benefits thereof. Managing and actioning on going promotions/campaigns strategic decisions throughout the customer base Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure client retention and satisfaction. Manage & retain relationships with key industry influencers Qualification and Skills: Must have Matric BCom Degree will be an advantage 3 years’ experience in external sales / business development Proven experience and skills in External Sales and Business Development Must have a valid driver’s license and own car – Non-Negotiable Suitable candidates will be contacted. Generating new business, retaining and developing existing business; Achievement of realistic targets on a Monthly, Quarterly and Annual basis; Generating new business by effectively cold calling, obtaining referrals and targeting all competitor client bases; Up-selling/cross selling to both the existing and new prospective client bases; Raising the level of service to existing clients to build and maintain a good working relationship and ensure that excellent operational service levels are being maintained by conducting PR calls; Ensuring that the Bidvest Protea Coin name, brand and image are maintained by ensuring that all administrational documentation, proposals, presentations etc. meet the required standards set out by the company; Upholding the companys Sales Policies and Procedures; Actively reporting on Competitor activity/information within your area; Look for new and innovative ways to market the Company, Services provided, and Products used i.e. editorials, mail shots, cold calling aids, advertising etc.; Networking with other Sales Executives within the Bidvest Group; Maintenance of database; Preferred qualifications/attributes/skills:   Grade 12 or equivalent qualification; Proven track record in Business Development; Excellent computer literacy, including Excel, Word, Power Point (Microsoft Office); Relevant knowledge and experience in the selling of Guarding solutions; Excellent communication and customer satisfaction skills; Good telephone etiquette; Strong leadership, time management, initiative skills and administration skills; Ability to do accurate cost proposals; Strong negotiation and presentation skills; Must be target driven and well presented; Own Vehicle & Drivers License; Clean disciplinary, credit and criminal record; Technical knowledge will be advantageous
