About the Role

The Business Development Manager – Ecommerce, Fintech, Payments will be responsible for driving sales growth through various distribution channels and identifying new market segments to expand into both locally and internationally. This role requires a strong understanding of the prepaid voucher market, fintech product markets, and technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and prioritize consumer and redemption partner needs in product functions and improvements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with redemption partners.
  • Drive sales growth through various distribution channels, including direct-to-consumer.
  • Identify and expand into new market segments, both locally and internationally.
  • Monitor market trends, dynamics, and competitor activities to inform and adapt strategies and plans.
  • Analyze redemption partner performance, segmentation, and consumer demand data to guide commercial decisions.
  • Prepare detailed market insight reports for executive and product teams.
  • Build a target partner pipeline with clear acquisition goals per quarter.
  • Use market research and competitor benchmarking to prioritize high-value targets.
  • Align acquisition activities with Branded Vouchers international expansion roadmap.
  • Support BV Executive in negotiations covering margin structures, rebates, exclusivity, and partner-funded contributions.
  • Oversee partner handover to Product & Ops, ensuring integration timelines and SLAs are met for seamless go live.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for partners, running structured QBRs.
  • Build trust-based relationships, ensuring partner satisfaction and retention.
  • Resolve escalations quickly, coordinating with Product, Ops, Finance and other internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (Postgraduate qualification advantageous).
  • Minimum 5 – 7 years relevant experience, ideally in prepaid or fintech.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning & execution.
  • In-depth knowledge of the prepaid voucher market.
  • Track record in business and client development in these markets.
  • Experience in successfully assessing and entering new fintech product markets.
