About the Role

The Business Development Manager – NPO will be responsible for driving growth and securing funding opportunities for a non-profit organization (NPO) in Johannesburg. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent networking skills, who can promote the NPO’s mission and objectives, establish strong relationships with funders and donors, and manage partnerships at various levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a growth strategy aligned with the foundations’ strategic objectives.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure funders, funding opportunities, and donations.
  • Continuously promote the foundations’ mission, objectives, and offerings.
  • Establish, manage, and maintain strong relationships with funders and donors.
  • Manage and sustain partnerships at both local and international levels.
  • Build and nurture networks of current and potential partners, funders, and donors.
  • Prepare and compile comprehensive funding applications.
  • Strengthen and enhance the foundations’ brand and reputation.
  • Manage stakeholder relations and foster positive engagement.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities that advance the foundations’ objectives.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and the evolving needs of funders and potential funders.

Requirements

  • BA, BCom, or B Soc Sci degree
  • 8 years in a similar business development role

Qualifications

  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Proficiency in Kolbo and Power BI (not negated)
