Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and continuously improve end-to-end billing and revenue operations processes
- Analyse operational data and reports to identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities
- Reconcile and validate data across multiple operational systems and billing platforms
- Ensure accurate financial records and support timely month-end billing close processes
- Identify and escalate system issues, working with IT and project teams to drive resolution
- Enforce strong operational controls across all billing and collections processes
- Act as key liaison between operations, finance, IT, and external stakeholders
- Develop and implement monthly billing and collections strategies to optimise cash flow
- Prioritise departmental objectives and ensure effective resource planning
- Resolve operational issues and implement mitigation strategies
- Serve as subject matter expert on billing-related projects and initiatives
- Contribute to process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency initiatives
Job experience and skills required:
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Finance, or related field (preferred)
Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in operations management, billing, revenue operations, or financial operations
- Proven experience in billing, collections, or debit order environments
- Strong exposure to reconciliation processes and financial data validation
- Experience working with high-volume transactional or payments environments
- Background in insurance, banking, or financial services preferred
Technical expertise:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (non-negotiable)
- Experience with billing systems, payment platforms, or collections engines
- Exposure to SQL, QlikView, or similar data reporting tools advantageous
- Strong understanding of digital payments, debit orders, and collection mechanisms
- Familiarity with DebiCheck or automated collections processes advantageous
- Experience working with large datasets and operational reporting tools
