About the Role
We are seeking a Junior CNC Operator to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating our CNC machines and ensuring high-quality components are produced efficiently. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong operational discipline, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines according to approved machining programs and production requirements.
- Ensure components are correctly positioned in the jaws or chuck device before engaging the machine cycle.
- Maintain a continuous flow of components from stock to the machine to avoid production interruptions.
- Ensure machining is performed within the approved cycle times.
- Remain alert while operating the machine at all times, avoiding distractions or unnecessary discussions.
- Ensure all safety devices are operational at the start of the shift and throughout production.
- Conduct visual and gauge inspections on each component removed from the machine.
- Report any deviations or quality concerns immediately to the Production Supervisor.
Requirements
- Ability to operate CNC machines according to approved machining programs and production requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a continuous flow of components.
- Excellent operational discipline and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic knowledge of go and no-go gauges.
- Familiarity with lubrication and coolant systems.
Qualifications
- Matric Certificate (or equivalent) required.
Salary & Benefits
R72.85 per hour for a 3-month contract.
