About the Role
The External Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for generating business from new and existing customers while developing strong and healthy business relationships. This role involves direct selling to customers, generating new sales leads, and actively promoting the sales of products to existing customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate business from new and existing customers while developing strong and healthy business relationships.
- Directly sell to customers and generate new sales leads.
- Visit assigned customers according to planned calling schedules.
- Prepare budgets, estimated potential, and planned profitability per customer.
- Actively promote the sales of products to existing customers and research new market opportunities.
- Prepare and present with PowerPoint presentations.
- Obtain enquiries, prepare quotations, and follow up to conclusion.
- Develop leads on other Manufacturing Products.
- Maintain an updated customer database.
- Obtain information on competitors’ products, pricing policies, and business strategies.
Requirements
- Matric
- Experience in Electric Motor, Automation and Control Gear and Related Products.
- Formal electrical qualification recognized apprenticeship/related diploma or at least 10 years sales experience.
- Good level of computer literacy, specifically MS. Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Good negotiating and presentation skills.
- Drivers licence.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
