About the Role

Macrocomm is seeking a highly skilled Financial Systems & Data Analyst to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our analytics function, you will be responsible for providing data-driven insights that support commercial and strategic decision making across various business units. You will work closely with finance and business teams to translate data into actionable outcomes, and develop and maintain pricing models and scenarios to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse financial, pricing and operational data to identify trends, risks and opportunities
Deliver clear insights that support commercial and strategic decision making
Partner with finance and business teams to translate data into actionable outcomes
Perform profitability, margin and cost analysis across projects, products or business units
Develop and maintain pricing models and scenarios
Build financial and commercial models to evaluate performance and strategic options
Support forecasting and budgeting processes using data driven approaches
Conduct sensitivity, what if and scenario analysis to support management decisions
Monitor actuals vs forecasts and provide variance explanations
Ensure reports are accurate, automated and aligned to business objectives
Standardise reporting across finance and commercial functions
Improve visibility of performance through intuitive data visualisation
Develop dashboards that integrate financial, operational and project metrics
Automate recurring reports, data pipelines and analytical processes
Reduce manual intervention through tools, scripts and system integration
Improve data quality, consistency and processing efficiency
Document models, logic and processes to ensure sustainability and knowledge sharing

Requirements

BCom – Statistics & Data Science
BCom – Financial Sciences
BCom – Information Systems
2-5 years’ experience in a data analyst or analytics role
Proven experience working with financial and commercial data
Demonstrated exposure to pricing models, forecasting and budgeting, performance scorecards and KPIs
