About the Role
The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of our business unit, directing and coordinating daily operations to ensure strategic goals are met. As General Manager: Operations, you will be responsible for planning, finance, regulations, and developing long-range and annual business plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and coordinate the operations of a business segment, department, or stand-alone retail location
- Set operational procedures
- Create and maintain budgets
- Manage employees
- Analyze and monitor financial statements
- Implement corrective measures as needed
- Report status monthly
- Make recommendations for capital improvements, supplies, and equipment
- Ensure operational compliance with local, state, and federal laws
- Maintain knowledge and compliance with all lease terms and contractual obligations
- Develop and implement general procedures
- Approve specific operational procedures and programs in harmony with the mission and general policies
- Monitor the performance of daily operations, functions, and services
- Establish personnel policies
- Manage accounting, inventories, banking, audit procedures, cash flow, and establish controls to safeguard funds and assets
- Coordinate marketing and promotional programs
- Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures
- Provide resolution of escalated customer service issues
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
- Professional accounting qualification (required)
- Member of recognised professional accounting body
- Additional qualifications in strategic management or leadership (advantageous)
- Digital transformation certification (advantageous)
- Change management qualifications (advantageous)
- Risk management certifications (desirable)
- Project management qualifications (desirable)
Qualifications
- MBA/MBL is a requirement
