International Tax Consultant Global VAT Team Johannesburg North | Office-based Were recruiting an International Tax Consultant to join a high-performing Global VAT team supporting international clients across multiple jurisdictions. This is a role for someone who lives and breathes tax , enjoys complex cross-border VAT work, and is confident engaging with stakeholders globally. This is not a general accounting role and not a CA(SA) track position. We are looking for a career tax specialist with strong academic grounding in taxation and a genuine interest in international VAT. The role Youll work closely with senior VAT specialists and international counterparts on EU and cross-border VAT matters, including: International and EU VAT advisory and compliance Cross-border transactions and VAT structuring Interacting with global teams, clients, and tax authorities Applying VAT legislation in practical, real-world scenarios Contributing to a collaborative, internationally focused VAT environment What were looking for Were intentionally targeting tax-first professionals with the right academic and practical foundation: BCom Taxation (essential) Honours and/or Masters in Taxation (highly advantageous) Experience or exposure to international VAT / EU VAT Strong technical understanding of VAT principles and legislation Confident communicator who can engage professionally across cultures and borders Curious, commercially aware, and able to think beyond “tick-box compliance” What will set you apart Exposure to EU VAT frameworks Experience working with or alongside global VAT teams A professional, personable style someone who can represent the business internationally Why consider this role?
