About the Role
The IT Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for delivering a client-centric service desk function, managing relationships with various stakeholders, and ensuring the successful delivery of IT objectives and governance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Windows and Linux environments, as well as strong leadership and technical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible to deliver a client centric service desk function with management information to measure delivery against quality objectives
- Manage relationships between Clusters; Group IT; Internal and External Audit to contribute to the successful delivery of a wide range of IT objectives and governance
- Fulfil a broader leadership role within the business, contributing to ensuring Group IT is instrumental in achieving clusters’ goals through technology application
- Ensure stability, availability, and performance of IT environments and applications, including capacity management, security, and automated restores
- Day-to-day management of the 1st line of support function, resolution/escalation of issues, and business requests
- Continuously improve processes within the team’s scope, ensuring alignment with greater IT areas (e.g., assistance with automation of code deployments and testing cycles)
- Lead, develop, and recruit people within the IT Operations team
- Manage overall operational risk and security aspects in the environment
- Responsible for business continuity and disaster recovery
- Negotiate and adhere to Service Level Agreements with vendors
- Implement and measure incident management and change control management and standards
- Develop and maintain corporate IT policies and standards
- Manage information systems and communication networks between all business units and branches within the organisation
- Maintain compliance to licenses, IT security, and internal controls
- Manage the IT infrastructure budget
- Implement strong monitoring capabilities with automated escalation and notifications
- Produce standard reports on regular frequency on performance as well as future consumption trends that might become risks
- Provide advanced technical expertise, oversight, and accountability for resolution of outages, service level issues, and other events in partnership with operational support teams
Requirements
- Degree in Information Technology or Relevant Degree (Advantage not Essential)
- Minimum of 10 years experience in IT systems with broad cross-domain technology
- At least 10 years in a managerial role in Infrastructure and IT Operations
- At least 10 years experience in line management of infrastructure and technical teams
- Strong track record of relationship management with third-party providers
- Solid understanding of physical and virtual infrastructure management, including storage, backups, and disaster recovery
- Strong background and knowledge of all levels of infrastructure architecture, including networks, firewall management
