About the Role
As a Solar Technician at Communicate Finance in Johannesburg North, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our solar and battery storage systems. You will work closely with our team to provide technical support, perform maintenance tasks, and respond to emergency callouts.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and optimise system performance to maximise efficiency and uptime
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on solar and BESS systems
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and control faults
- Provide technical support and assist with system upgrades
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting
- Respond to emergency callouts and field operations when required
- Ensure strict adherence to all health and safety standards
Requirements
- Strong understanding of PV system components and BESS systems
- Minimum 4–5 years’ experience in solar and battery storage environments
- Proficient in electrical circuits, grounding, power distribution, and wiring regulations
- Knowledge of transformers, switchgear, and protection relays
- Comfortable working at heights and on rooftops
- Strong safety awareness and hazard identification
- Good computer literacy and reporting skills
- Willingness to respond to site callouts
Qualifications
- Minimum Electrical Trade Test Certificate
- Wireman’s License (Advantageous)
