About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations Risk Controller to join our team in Johannesburg. As a critical member of our high-performance logistics operation, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day control room operations, monitoring high-value cargo movements, and ensuring that all operational risks are identified, managed, and escalated appropriately.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage control room operations (day/night shift)
- Monitor line haul movements and courier routes to ensure operational efficiency
- Track vehicles and cargo using GPS, camera systems, and tracking platforms
- Manage access control and security protocols
- Coordinate with third-party security providers (e.g., armed escorts)
- Conduct incident investigations and escalate risks appropriately
- Ensure compliance with security and operational standards
- Maintain accurate reporting and communicate with management
- Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency and service levels
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Minimum 5 years experience in the security industry
- Minimum 5 years experience within a control room environment
- Strong exposure to courier, logistics, or transport operations (essential)
- Experience monitoring high-value cargo or fleet operations
- Ability to work night shifts and under pressure
