About the Role
We are seeking qualified Optometrists to join our team in major towns across South Africa for a large-scale rollout of community-based satellite clinics. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to accessible eye care services while gaining broad clinical experience in diverse communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments.
- Diagnose and manage common ocular conditions and refer complex cases where necessary.
- Prescribe and dispense spectacles and other visual aids.
- Educate patients and communities on eye health and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and comply with professional and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with the broader healthcare team involved in the satellite clinic rollout.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Optometry (or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
- Registered (or eligible for registration) with the HPCSA as an Optometrist.
- Proven clinical experience in optometry (community or primary care experience advantageous).
- Willingness to work in community-based satellite clinics.
- Strong patient-centred approach and good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
