About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Reservations Team Lead to join our luxury property group in Johannesburg. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing a small high-performing reservations team, ensuring seamless multi-channel booking operations, and driving revenue growth across our portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a small Central Reservations team
- Oversee all reservations across telephone, email, WhatsApp, online platforms, CRS systems, referrals, and social media
- Drive upselling, cross-selling, and revenue optimisation across the portfolio
- Manage reservation statuses and ensure SOP compliance at all times
- Oversee OTA management and ensure platform accuracy and performance
- Train, mentor, and motivate team members for consistent high performance
- Manage cancellations, amendments, and refund processes efficiently
- Support forecasting, occupancy planning, deposits, and inventory control with Reservations Manager
- Prepare daily expected arrival reports and coordinate with operations teams
- Maintain accurate system records, correspondence, and filing
- Ensure fast response times, inbox management, and high attention to detail
- Foster strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Provide operational support across departments when required
Requirements
Minimum 6 years’ experience in tourism, travel, or reservations environments. Proven experience in a senior reservations or team lead role. Strong leadership and people management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
PMS experience (Opera Cloud, Nebula, eRes, Apex advantageous) is highly recommended but not mandatory.
