About the Role

An established and growing company is seeking a strong Sales Representative to join their Johannesburg-based team. The successful candidate will be a highly driven, results-oriented sales professional who can generate new leads, build relationships, and drive sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new leads and identify sales opportunities
  • Reach out to customer leads through cold calling and proactive prospecting
  • Communicate the benefits and value of the company’s products and services to drive sales
  • Act as the main point of contact between the business and its prospects or clients
  • Identify, educate, and support prospective and existing customers with relevant product and service information
  • Sell products and services using strong, persuasive sales arguments
  • Build and maintain positive business relationships to ensure future sales
  • Provide complete and appropriate solutions to customers to increase revenue, customer acquisition, and profitability
  • Secure orders from existing and potential clients while meeting customer needs
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with prospective and existing clients
  • Conduct professional sales presentations to a range of prospective customers
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the company’s products, processes, and systems
  • Ensure customers are satisfied and well-supported throughout the sales process
  • Establish, develop, and maintain long-term customer relationships
  • Perform cost-benefit and needs analyses to recommend suitable solutions
  • Prepare and submit offers to purchase
  • Obtain deposits and manage balance-of-payment collections
  • Visit clients and potential clients to assess needs and promote products and services
  • Respond to client queries regarding credit terms, pricing, products, and availability
  • Manage customer accounts, including contract and agreement oversight to maximise profitability
  • Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts
  • Act as a trusted advisor to key clients and stakeholders
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of solutions according to customer requirements
  • Resolve customer issues and complaints efficiently to maximise satisfaction
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records
  • Communicate progress on monthly and quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop new business and identify improvement opportunities to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Achieve agreed sales targets and outcomes
  • Analyse market potential and track sales and status reports
  • Stay informed on promotional and industry trends

Requirements

  • Matric/Tertiary qualification
  • Proven experience as a strong Sales Representative
  • Previous experience in weighbridge systems or a similar industry (preferred)
  • Own vehicle and a valid driver’s licence
  • Computer literate
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Target-driven with a professional, customer-focused mindset
